Which Daikin Unit Suits Your Home?

As one of the largest manufacturers of air conditioning in the world and having over 90 years of designing and manufacturing air conditioning all over the world, Daikin’s reputation is that of experts in their field. Unlike many other manufacturers, Daikin only makes air conditioning units and lead the market in technology and design of air conditioners, with a vast range of options to satisfy any consumer be it residential or commercial.

Daikin dealers do not sell boxes – they sell the entire solution, including providing installation of your Daikin air conditioner so you have total peace of mind and a “one stop” solution – this too is Woodpeckers philosophy.

Customers often ask, can my high wall split system heat or cool my whole house? In simple terms the answer is no – a split system air conditioner is designed to do the room the indoor unit is located in. While there is some airflow to adjoining rooms, the air conditioner should only be sized to do the room the indoor unit is installed.

By purchasing a larger unit than required in the hope it can do other rooms, it can also cause what is known as “short cycling” meaning the unit will not dehumidify the air, and create a wet clammy feeling. By overexerting your unit, it will also use large amounts of energy and increase your home running costs!

To effectively cool or heat rooms, an indoor unit must be installed in the rooms required. A multi-head system is ideal in these scenarios, whereby one outdoor unit can accommodate more than one indoor unit and offers the ability to independently cool or heat rooms as needed. A ducted split system can also achieve this requirement and be designed to cool/heat all rooms as required by the client.

A ducted system can be installed either during construction or retrospectively, if the property has a pitched roof and adequate space for the ducting and equipment in the roof. Ducted systems provides the client with cooling/heating in as many rooms as they choose, and can be customised to “zone” areas, reducing running costs when certain areas are not in use. The use of ceiling vents makes this system an ideal solution when a clean and minimalistic design is required.
